Volunteering at camp
Each year at our support camp, we recruit and train a small group of volunteers. These volunteers take on the role of 'key worker' and look after a small group of young people during camp. They provide support and a listening ear and join in the activities provided. More information about this is available here.
Every two years we recruit new members for our Youth Committee. This is an opportunity for HIV positive young people (aged 13-18) to get further involved with our work and to ensure we are doing our best to support all young people living with HIV across the UK and Ireland. More information about this can be found here.
We've had numerous individuals raise money for our work over the last 5 years with activities ranging from World Aids Day collection buckets to sponsored sports events and a choral concert. If you feel inspired to do some fundraising for us we can support you in this by providing information and promotional materials for you. We can also help promote your event via our website and social media. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
The CHIVA Participation Officer Abi Carter ran the Bristol 10K in 2016 to raise money for the annual support camp.
One of our camp volunteers and previous member of the CHIVA Executive Committee, Emily, ran the Bristol 1/2 marathon in 2014 to help send a young person to camp in 2014.
