Think about where you want to tell someone, pick a place where you feel comfortable to talk openly. It could be place that’s special for you (so, if you have grown up together, a place which has good memories), or somewhere where you will both be relaxed and comfortable.
Think about when you want to tell them. You don’t want to do it at a time when either of you is stressed or busy – like around exams or with a big event coming up. You need to feel calm and confident so you can deal with however they react. You may also want some time afterwards to revisit the conversation and check in about how they are feeling.
