April 17, 2018, 9:00 AM to April 20, 2018, 5:00 PM

The Fourth Joint Conference of the British HIV Association (BHIVA) with the British Association for Sexual Health and HIV (BASHH) will be held in the spring of 2018 at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre, UK. More information here

Abstracts MUST be submitted online and you can download submission instructions and an abstract template from the website by clicking here:

The deadline for abstract submission is 1700 (GMT) 19 January 2018. Please note that it is required for presenting authors to be registered for the conference within two weeks of hearing whether their abstract has been selected for presentation. You are reminded that registration rates increase after the abstract deadline.

BHIVA/ BASHH Science Scholarships  Science Scholarships are available for researchers and scientists wishing to attend the conference who submit an abstract that is accepted for oral or poster presentation. Up to 10 awards will be available to medical students undertaking research or to those studying for a PhD, MD or similar postgraduate qualification. The scholarship will cover the registration fee, a contribution of a maximum of £100 towards travel expenses, and accommodation will be provided for a maximum of three nights (17–19 April). To apply, please tick the appropriate box when submitting your abstract online, indicating that you wish to apply for a Science Scholarship. In addition, written confirmation is required of your student status and this should be outlined when submitting your abstract. All applications must be received by 19 January 2018. All applicants will be notified during the week commencing 12 February 2018 as to whether their application has been successful.

BHIVA/ BASHH Community Registration Support Community registration places are open to application by representatives of UK-based community organisations who are registered charities or who are under the umbrella of UK-CAB (UK Community Advisory Board). If an organisation meets neither of these criteria then they can put forward representation for consideration by BHIVA and BASHH. If your organisation has not registered for BHIVA/BASHH conferences previously, then a representative’s registration form needs to be accompanied by a brief résumé of the aims and objectives of your organisation on headed paper.

Community registration places are limited and will be allocated as fairly as possible, in principle on a first-come, first-served basis, with a maximum of two registrations per community organisation. The award covers registration for the conference only. The deadline to receive applications is 19 January 2018. Please note: it is essential that applications are received by this date in order to be considered for support. To apply for a community registration place please register online via the conference section of the website, selecting the category ‘Community’. Please note that successful community registrants will be required to pay the full applicable registration fee post conference, if they fail to attend the conference or provide 14 days’ notice of their cancellation. It is necessary for community registrants to purchase a Gala Dinner ticket if they wish to attend this event.
